What is Mindfulness?

  • Mindfulness is about learning to be present in the moment instead of ruminating about the past or worrying about the future.

  • We do this by learning mindfulness techniques such as practicing mindfulness meditation.

  • It also teaches us how to be more aware of our thoughts and emotions and to gently turn towards them - instead of avoiding them or trying to distract ourselves.

What are the benefits of Mindfulness?

  • Reduce stress, anxiety & depression

  • Make us feel better by making the “fight & flight” part of our brain less reactive

  • Help us to relax

  • Allow us to have choices about how we respond to a situation – rather than reacting to it. This will help us to have healthier relationships too!
